What stages of development we experience while learning and practicing Tai Chi

by Jens Klappert

What stages of development we experience while learning and practicing Tai Chi is just as individual as we are. For each individual, the aspects are first defined differently, so that some focus more on learning postures, while others have to pay more attention to relaxation (Song). Only through the expert guidance of an experienced teacher (Sifu) do the doors of the art of Tai Chi open up and let us learn well, step by step.

Under the guidance of Sifu Chong, we will be picked up where we are, each one according to his / her individual abilities. Sifu Chong is able to recognize after a few movements, posture, expression where the approach must be laid in the instruction. This helps us to train properly right from the start.

Tai Chi does not only mean a kind of oriental wisdom or something esoteric or even exotic. It is the wisdom of your senses, your mind and your physical structure as one process. The more one gains the sensitivity of consciousness, awareness and Qi through the correct guidance by Sifu Chong, the more one can express the attained sensitivity in his / her daily life.
